Sr Test Engineer

Eaton\u2019s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Test Engineer. \n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPrimary Function:\n\nResponsible to design, validate, implement and sustain test systems; including documentation, training and statistical process control. \nAn Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement and automation of the test processes on current and transfers businesses to improve efficiency or accuracy and ensure consistent results accross different platforms or devices. \n \n \n \nEssential Functions:\n\n1 Optimize test process complying with customer demand, quality, product specifications and safety to improve production shop floor in order to accomplish with company profits. \n2 Responsible of creating test standard procedures and follow up adherence, support focus factory units to eliminate or mitigate down time. \n3 Follow up and implement equipment, process and product changes according to MCOs and deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions according to the quality system to avoid reoccurrence of failures. \n4 Test equipment development/improvement (software and hardware) Design, develop and implement test fixtures with proper guarding to eliminate or mitigate any risks, Implement automation projects for more reliable processes and cost out savings according to assigned budget. \n5 Align to Automotive Standards for validations (such as MSA and other statistical tools), as well as master sample developments and poka yoke methods. \n6 Develop TPM programs (Total preventive maintenance) and assure correct implementation on test equipment to reduce down time. \n7 Execute test validation methods to meet quality test specifications according to APQP methodology. \n8 Lead Capital Projects including decision matrix analysis, quoting process, timing, ROI and capitalization. \n9 Implementation of porjects linked to Lean Six Sigma methdologies for waste elimination and variation reduction to improve the testing process. \n10 Develop and implement improvement solutions based on Industry 4.0 with an automotive mindset. \n11 Actively participate during layout changes and use of 3P methodology \n12 Participates in safety assessments and generate JSA and MOC (Job safety analysis and Management of changes) \n13 Support Introduction of new projects of the plant related to Electrical Test linked to the phases of the APQP methodology including planning, execution and validation\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nPreferred education level: \n\n * Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or similar.\n * High level of communication skills (written/oral) in English\n\n\n\nYears and area of experience required:\n\n * 5 - 10 years of experience in electrical test engineering positions or similar position.\n * 3 \u2013 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.\n\n\n\nTechnical knowledge: \n\n * Strong knowledge of IPC-610, 620, 7710 and ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949.\n * Highly skilled on C++ programming, CVI, Lab View, Chroma platforms (preferred).\n * High knowledge on ICT and Functional Testers (preferred).\n * Strong knowledge on Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nSoft skills: \n\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.\n * Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, plant engineering, production, maintenance needs and systems application.\n\n\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
