Job Description

CNC Engineer

Drive precision, innovation and performance on the shop floor.

We are looking for a CNC Engineer to lead CNC programming, manufacturing methodologies and process improvement. This role will be a key technical partner for Manufacturing and Engineering, driving efficiency, quality and the implementation of advanced machining technologies.

What you’ll do

- Develop, validate and optimize complex CNC programs for 4- and 5-axis machining.

- Ensure CNC manufacturing processes meet drawing, specification, quality and customer requirements.

- Interpret technical drawings and specifications using GD&T and analyze CMM and manual inspection results.

- Optimize cycle time, labor time, tooling and machining processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.

- Support machine setups, trials and development projects, and create clear process documentation.

- Train and support CNC programmers and machine operators.

- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and lead root cause and corrective actions.

- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in CNC programming and manufacturing processes.

- Evaluate new machining technologies and recommend solutions to improve quality, capability and efficiency.

- Support capital equipment projects, including CAPEX, ROI, supplier management and machine implementation.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and external suppliers to deliver effective technical solutions.

- Promote Lean Manufacturing, safety and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

What you bring

- Strong hands-on experience in CNC programming and machining, with deep understanding of shop-floor operations.

- Expertise in G-code, HyperMill, NCSimul, CATIA V5 and CNC controls such as Siemens 840D, Fanuc 30i, Makino Pro6 and MAPPS IV.

- Experience with IMS/iCAM postprocessors and CNC macro programming.

- Knowledge of tooling technologies including tool presetters, shrink-fit systems, tool balancing and chip management.

- Strong machining experience with titanium, aluminum, carbon fiber and Inconel.

- Knowledge of CMM measurement report analysis, GD&T, dimensional chains, higher mathematics and complex trigonometry.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

- Experience with TopSolid, VERICUT, GOM Inspect, SolidWorks, 3DEXPERIENCE or 3D printing is a plus.
